Understanding the Employee Assistance Program

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP), offered by SupportLinc, can help you and your family with a range of personal and work issues, including emotional support, stress management, alcohol/substance misuse, legal and financial counseling, senior and child care services referrals, and more.

Using your EAP benefit

EAP representatives are available 24/7 to assist you. You can access the EAP online (Code: bertelsmann) or by calling SupportLinc at 1-888-881-5462. Representatives are available 24 hours a day, any day of the year.

EAP services are FREE and completely confidential.

The SupportLinc mobile app provides easy access to EAP services while you’re on the go. You can send a secure email, call or text a representative, schedule a consultation, and more!

Covered services

The EAP can provide counseling services by phone or text, online, or face to face. Face-to-face counseling is limited to six sessions per issue per person. Common counseling topics include:

  • Stress, depression, and personal problems
  • Balancing work and personal needs
  • Family and relationship concerns
  • Alcohol or drug dependency
  • Workplace conflicts and job concerns
  • General health and wellness

However, the EAP is more than just a counseling provider. Here are some of the other services available:

If an EAP representative refers you to an outside resource, you’ll be advised in advance of how much it will cost, if anything.
