MetLife Critical Illness, Accident, and Hospital Indemnity

For those times when you didn’t think you’d need it

You have the option to enroll in these additional coverages during the open enrollment period. These coverages help safeguard your finances by providing you with a lump-sum payment when you need it most, like in the event of a hospitalization or medical emergency.

Accident: Accident Insurance coverage provides you with payment for a covered accident such as an injury while doing home repairs or while on vacation. If you have a covered accident, log in to the MetLife website or contact MetLife for a claim form. Complete the form and submit it to MetLife via email, fax, or mail. You’ll need to submit a physician statement with your claim

Hospital Indemnity: There will be times when you are left with unexpected expenses to pay when you are hospitalized. Having extra financial support if the time comes may mean less worry for you and your family, and it will give you the ability to protect your savings and focus on your recovery. This plan typically pays a flat amount for hospital admission, and a daily amount is paid for each day of a hospital stay.

Critical Illness: Critical Illness coverage can help safeguard your finances by providing you with a lump-sum payment when your family needs it most. When a serious illness happens, this coverage provides you with a lump-sum payment up to $15,000 in initial benefits upon diagnosis. Diagnosis of cancer, kidney failure, or a heart attack are all covered conditions under this benefit.

For all three (3) coverages, some limitations and exclusions do apply. Dependents may not be subject to a medical restriction as described in the certificate. Additionally, restrictions apply to dependents serving in the armed forces or living overseas.
